Welcome to Lactation Dream’s blog!
Hi, I’m Miri — a nurse and your new ally in breastfeeding and respectful parenting
👋 Hi! I’m Miriam — but almost everyone calls me Miri. I’ve just turned 30, still trying not to have a crisis about it (or at least pretending quite well!). I’m the person behind Lactation Dream — a nurse specialised in breastfeeding and infant massage, and someone who’s truly passionate about walking alongside families through this wild, beautiful and sometimes exhausting adventure we call parenting.
Let me tell you a bit about myself, because behind this profile is just a regular girl who, although never top of the class (more like the “you won’t achieve anything” type), decided to prove she could do anything she set her mind to. And here I am — chasing dreams, with a curious soul, a love for travel, and always ready to keep exploring the world.
I started out with a vocational course in healthcare to see if this path was for me — and it definitely was. I fell in love with hospital life, with patients, and with that incredible feeling that what you do can truly change lives. I later studied a higher diploma in Pathological Anatomy and Cytodiagnosis, where I discovered how fascinating the lab can be… but also realised my heart belongs with people — connecting, supporting, being present.
So, with a bit of fear but a lot of determination, I started my nursing degree. Four intense years of hard work, tears, laughter, sleepless nights and a whole lot of learning later, I was ready to face the real world — straight into A&E. There I was, one headless chicken among many (sending lots of love to anyone who’s been through that rollercoaster!). But life had other plans — I took a leap, packed my suitcase, followed the love of my life, and landed in chilly London.
It’s been three years since I moved, and living abroad has taught me more than any qualification ever could. It was here that I truly found my calling: breastfeeding support and infant care. I did a Master’s, became certified in baby massage, and discovered how deeply fulfilling it is to help families build strong, loving bonds. Every consultation, every smile, every story reminds me why I do what I do. That’s why Lactation Dream was born — to offer guidance, support and lots of love to those stepping into parenthood.
I know breastfeeding might seem natural and instinctive, but in today’s world it often doesn’t feel that way. We’ve lost the “village” — that network of support we used to rely on. That’s why I believe a mix of instinct, evidence-based information and emotional support is key to feeling confident and at peace on this journey.
This space is here to share practical tips, reflections, inspiration and a bit of humour to help make breastfeeding, parenting and baby massage moments of connection, learning and joy. A space where you can feel supported, listened to and never alone.
Thank you for being here and letting me be part of your journey. I can’t wait to keep learning, growing and walking beside you and your family — one step at a time.
With a big (virtual) hug, Miri
